From Maurice Okafor, Enugu

The Potter’s Wheel Foundation, a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) based in Enugu with a national spread, has reiterated its commitment to providing skill acquisition training to youths, women, and children, enabling them to contribute meaningfully to the nation’s socio-economic growth.

The President/Chief Executive Officer of the organization, Mr. Godsown Onuzulike, reaffirmed this commitment during an award ceremony for the foundation’s commitment to youth development and empowerment, bestowed upon him by the Nigerian Students Legislative Council (NSLC), Enugu State Chapter.

The NSLC, a collection of student parliaments from universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education in Nigeria, recognized Mr. Onuzulike’s efforts through an “Award of Recognition” for his “unwavering commitment to youth empowerment, community impact, and servant leadership.”

The citation read, “Your hands build, your heart leads. Thank you for being a light to our youths.” Mr. Onuzulike, physically present to receive the award, expressed gratitude and assured that his foundation would continue to champion student welfare and empowerment as part of its humanitarian services.

He stated, “I’m truly humbled to receive this award… This award fuels my passion to continue championing student welfare and empowerment. At The Potter’s Wheel Foundation, we’re committed to empowering youth, women, and children through capacity-building initiatives.” He disclosed that the foundation has trained over 20,000 individuals, with 80% being youth, and announced a 5-month program from August to November 2025 to celebrate the foundation’s 5-year anniversary.

Mr. Onuzulike expressed his desire to continue collaborating with Nigerian students and thanked the NSLC, Enugu State Chapter, for the award. “Thank you for this recognition. I look forward to continued collaboration and making a lasting impact together!”
