Edo guber victory: UniAbuja hails alumnus, Gov Okpebholo, on Supreme Court’s verdict

The Acting Vice Chancellor of the University of Abuja, Professor Patricia Manko Lar, has extended heartfelt congratulations to Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, following the Supreme Court’s affirmation of his electoral victory.

In a message released to journalists in Abuja, Prof. Lar described the ruling as not only a triumph for Governor Okpebholo and the people of Edo State, but also a proud moment for the University of Abuja community.

The statement reads in full: “On behalf of the University community, I warmly congratulate His Excellency, Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State, on the affirmation of his electoral victory by the Supreme Court on Thursday 10 August 2025.

“We have no doubt that this victory is truly well deserved, not only for your party and the good people of Edo State, but also as a proud and inspiring moment for the Alumni Association of our great University.

“I rejoice with you and wish you continued success as you continue to serve the people of Edo State.

“We urge you to continue providing credible, people-focused leadership, and to demonstrate, as a distinguished alumnus of our great University, that your commitment to service and humanity remains unshakable.”

Governor Okpebholo, an alumnus of UniAbuja, was also lauded by the institution for upholding the values of public service and integrity, which the university says he exemplifies in his leadership.
