All is set for the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) launch of a new digital platform for the Combined Expatriate Residence Permit and Automated Card (CERPAC) application process come August 1, 2025. This move aims to enhance transparency, efficiency, and user experience as part of the Federal Government’s (FG) efforts to reform and improve the immigration service.

According to a recent statement by the Service Public Relations Officer, Akinsola Akinlabi, the new platform, will enable applicants to submit CERPAC applications online and physical CERPAC forms will no longer be accepted after July 31, 2025.

Informing that applicants with paid but un-submitted forms must complete and submit them before July 31, 2025, to avoid losing application status and associated payments, those assuming immigration responsibility for expatriates, the statement on, should complete all pending submissions within the stipulated timeframe to avoid inconvenience.

The digitalization of the CERPAC process is part of the government’s broader reforms to modernize public service delivery, eliminate bureaucratic bottlenecks, and promote transparency. This move is expected to simplify immigration procedures, reduce paperwork, and make it easier for employers and expatriates to manage immigration compliance.
