By Abbah Eku-onyekachi

The Ezeigbo 1 of Abuja, Ibe Nwosu, has urged Ndigbo residents in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to promote unity and peace among themselves.

He made the statement during the 2025 Iriji festival ceremony in Abuja, saying his Igbo kinsmen are known for hard work, resilience and law-abiding anywhere in the world.

Nwosu said the annual Iriji is an opportunity for Ndigbo to come together and celebrate their cultural heritage, and to thank God Almighty for His blessings.

The Ezeigbo noted that the celebration also brings together Ndigbo from the FCT, for more unity and love among each other.

Ezeigbo encouraged his kinsmen to continue to remain calm and law abiding, as they carry out their businesses in the territory.

Nwosu also pleaded with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to facilitate the quick release of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of IPOB, from detention.

He stated that the release of the IPOB leader will restore peace in the country, respect in the South Eastern part of the country.
