President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA), Dr. Segun Ogunsanya, on his 60th birthday.

In a statement issued on Sunday by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President joined the family, friends, colleagues and the Nigerian business community in celebrating the accomplished corporate leader.

President Tinubu described Ogunsanya as a distinguished professional whose career has been marked by excellence, discipline, innovation and service to humanity.

The President commended him for his contributions to the telecommunications sector, enterprise leadership, financial inclusion and Africa’s digital transformation, noting that his work had expanded access to mobile connectivity, digital services and economic opportunities across the continent.

Tinubu particularly acknowledged Ogunsanya’s tenure as Group Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Airtel Africa Plc, where he led one of the continent’s leading telecommunications companies and played a key role in advancing digital and financial inclusion across several African countries.

The President also praised Ogunsanya’s continued service as Chairman of the Airtel Africa Foundation and Chairman of the Board of the Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority, noting that his wealth of experience and strategic leadership continue to contribute to national development.

“Segun Ogunsanya represents the best of Nigerian professionalism. His life and career show what is possible when talent is matched with discipline, vision, humility and a deep sense of responsibility,” Tinubu said.

The President added that Ogunsanya had not only built a remarkable career but had also helped create platforms that connect people, businesses, communities and opportunities across Africa.

“As he continues to serve Nigeria through his leadership of the NSIA Board, I am confident that his experience and judgement will remain valuable to our national development objectives,” he said.

Tinubu prayed for God’s continued blessings upon the celebrant, wishing him many more years of good health, wisdom and fulfilment in service to Nigeria, Africa and humanity.
