Pega foundation celebrates children at annual fun fair

It was fun galore as Pega and Friends foundation members thrilled hundreds of students across the six geopolitical zones of the country for the foundation’s 2024 Children’s Day celebration.

Pega and Friends foundation Foundation, a charity non-profit organisation passionately driven by the need to enable and facilitate a better life for every Nigerian child, marked the 7th edition of its annual Children’s Day Fun fare with the theme “Our Children—A Precious Inheritance” by treating the beneficiaries of the foundation as well as several other children who despite the harsh socio-economic situation in the country are determined to thrive in their various academic endeavours.

Pega and friends foundation was founded by Prince Ekunola Gbenga Abraham (PEGA) – an award-winning publicist and activist.

Speaking during the kick of event in Abeokuta, Ogun State, the chairperson Social Committee Ms Sunmisola Adeyemi stated that the annual event is in line with the organisation’s mandate to promote, protect and preserve the rights and welfare of children in Nigeria.

“We celebrate the wonderful children of our great nation every year through this event because we know that Our Children are Precious Inheritance and they are indeed the leaders of tomorrow and they are the future of this country. We believe that what we invest in them today would come around to transform us and this is why our foundation P&FF is passionate about the development of children and the protection of their rights, ” Adeyemi said.

Writing boards were donated to the schools dedicated to caring for children with disabilities.

Some of the schools visited include; New life Academy, Owu Dekudu village, along kobape road,Abeokuta, Yewa North local goverment school, Ijoun, Yewa North, Ogun State.

In appreciation to Pega and friends foundation for organising the fun-packed children’s day event, Mrs Nola Oluwatoyin Dania, the Headmistress New life Academy, commended the foundation for their show of affection and love to the children, stating that the children would forever remember the wonderful experience.

Also in Ijoun, the headmaster Yewa North local government, Mr. ‘Lekan Ajayi commended the foundation for its magnanimity towards humanity, children especially.
He thanked the team for remembering the children by providing them with cake and educational materials to join their counterparts in celebrating this year’s Children’s Day, and prayed that the Almighty God bless the organization and prosper it.

Finally, Adeyemi appreciated all the sponsors of the event including
Viju Milk Nig Ltd for their support in the successful execution of the children’s day celebration.

She called on other corporate institutions to support the annual event most especially as the foundation prepares for its 10th Anniversary as a way of showing their love for children as well as in continuation of their social development activities.

This year’s edition of the Children’s Day event will forever be remembered by participants who were thrilled with several programmes including, music and dance performances, gift donations, motivational talks, comedy and jokes, photography session and so on.
