The family of community leader and philanthropist, late Rev. Chief (Dr.) Mrs. Theresa Adanma Ationu, of Amangwu Ohafia in Abia State, has fixed her funeral ceremonies for 23rd and 24th of December, 2024.
The 92-year-old (1932-2024) matriarch of the Ationu family passed on last September 14th at her home in Lagos.
Funeral arrangements announced by the family, indicate that there will be a Wake Keep on Monday 23rd December at her country home – Amangwu Ohafia in Ohafia Local Government Area of Abia State.
A Funeral Service is slated for the following day, 24th December, at Community Primary School, Amangwu Ohafia at 10 am, to be followed by internment of her remains in the family compound.
A devout Christian, woman leader, mentor and role model, Ma Ationu is acknowledged to have lived a fulfilled and rewarding life of service to her community and God, and would be sorely missed by her kith and kin in Amaokom Compound, the Emeghe of Ndi Anyaja Compound, and ikwu Umu Akah of Amangwu Ohafia.
She is survived by six children – Dr. (Chief) Art Ationu, Glory Ationu, Christopher Ationu, Stella Ationu, Jayne Timbres (nee Ationu), and Dr. (Chief) Henry Ationu – as well as 12 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
