Police In Kano Nab One-Man-Squad Notorious Armed Robber

Mahmud Ibrahim, a 26-year old one-man-squad suspected  notorious armed robber who have been operating in Kano and Niger states for two years, has finally met his waterloo as he is currently cooling off at the Bompai Police Command in Kano, awaiting justice, after investigation.


According to the Kano state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Sama’ila Shu’aibu Dikko,  Ibrahim, hails from  Kurna Babban Layi Quarters, Dala Local Government Area of Kano State.


He was found  in possession of a pump action rifle when he was arrested. 


CP Dikko who spoke through the Command’s Image-Maker, DSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa said, “in his attempt to escape, the suspect sustained injuries and was rushed to Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital Kano, where he was treated and released to the Police for investigation. 


“On preliminary investigation, the suspect confessed to have committed  a series of armed robberies alone for over two years in Kano and Niger State.


 “He claimed to have gotten the pump action rifle during one of his armed robbery operations in Niger State.”


Giving a graphic account of how Ibrahim was arrested,the police boss said, “on the 15 August, 2021, we received a distress call that an armed robber with a gun attacked a resident in his house located at Kuyan Ta’inna Town, Kumbotso Local Governnent Area, Kano State. 


“Upon receipt of the report, the Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Sama’ila Shu’aibu Dikko,  raised and instructed a team of Policemen led by SP Suleiman Ibrahim, Divisional Police Officer, Panshekara Division to proceed to the scene and arrest the culprit. 


“The Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Sama’ila Shu’aibu Dikko, fsi (Nagari-Nakowa) has ordered that the case be transferred to the Criminal Investigation Department of the Command for discreet investigation. Suspect will be charged to court upon completion of investigation. 


“The CP thanked the good people of Kano State for their continuous support and cooperation. He urged residents to continue to prayer and to report incidences to the nearest Police Station and not to take laws into their hands.
