Mammoth Crowd Welcomes Timubu In Kano

Mammoth crowd of supporters and All Progressive Congress (APC) faithfuls welcomed the National Leader of the ruling party, Asiwaju Hola Ahmed Timubu to Kano who was on a condolence visit to Alhaji Aliko Dangote over the death of his brother and Vice President of the Dangote Group, Sani Dangote.


Sani died in a United States of America (USA) hospital, last Sunday, after battling a cancer-related ailment.
His remains was brought to Kano and buried at the family cemetery last Tuesday.


Since then, Kano has been playing host to high-profile politicians, business men, technocrats and other big men who have been coming to register their condolence to the richest man in Africa, Dangote, his family and the good people of Kano state.


Timubu and his entourage landed Malam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA), on a private jet, at about 11:40 a.m.


He was warmly received by Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, his Deputy, Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, members of Ganduje’s cabinet and APC chieftains, at the airport.


Unprecedented crowd also lined up at the airport, waving at the long convoy of Timubu, a potential 2023 presidential aspirant.


From the airport, Timubu proceeded to the residence of business mogul and uncle to Dangote, Alhaji Aminu Santa, at Koki quarters, within the city where he consoled with him.


From there, the APC National Leader headed to the residence of Aliko Dangote, at Dambazau Lane, off Lodge Road, where he was condoling with the business magnet as at the time of filling this report.


Aliko Dangote narrated to Tinubu how his brother, Sani, died.


According to Dangote, they watched as Sani died in a USA hospital.


He said doctors informed them that Sani was going to die.


Dangote said he and members of the family, including his mother were told that Sani was going to die in an hour time.


He added that they watched as the life-supporting machine were going down ticking out the time as Sani gave up the ghost.


Dangote further stated that his brother’s death is a great lesson to the living and urged people to do good to humanity because no one knows when death will come knocking.


According to him, it was most painful to be informed that his brother was going to die in an hour time, and he wached with the mother and the entire family, Sani dieing, as the machine was gradually going down.


Tinubu consoled with him and the entire family, adding that if money could buy death, Sani would have been alive today.


Tinubu, who was in company of Governor Ganduje is expected to visit Goveenment House and the Palace of the Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero, before flying back to Lagos.
