Impeachment Saga: Zamfara communities express concern, warn leaders, stakeholders

Barely 72 hours after the formation of the committee of investigating the deputy governor of Zamfara, communities in the State have continued to express their concerns and fears over what will be the fate of the State politically.


They also advised the governor and all other relevant stakeholders across the State to as a matter of fact, stop the process, as according to them, is not what Zamfara needs now.


Investigation carried out by The Authority in the State indicated that as the issue of impeaching Mahdi Aliyu as the deputy governor became a topic of discussion all over the State, no area is not holding one meeting or another, discussing the issue. Many people who spoke to our reporter expressed their sadness, blaming the governor on the whole matter.


Malan DahirMai Injin, a resident of Takacame area in Gusau, told our reporter that he was not happy with whaleaedership wes on in the State now, adding that instead of the governor to concentrate on his primary assignment of addressing insecurity, something that has been worrying the people, irrespective of age or sex, but now only fighting for his seat, is this a good leadership, he asked.


He also revealed that it is only a trick the leaders play with aim of diverting the attention of the populace on issues regarding the security of the State.


Also speaking, Kabiru Sands, a retired School teacher, and who also complained bitterly for not settled of his benefit, stated that the whole saga was caused by the government in collaboration with the State Assembly, and for nothing other than to achieve their political aim, and which at the end of it all, only the common man will suffer.


Also speaking, Hajiya Talatu Me Haiba, a food seller based in the city of Mary, expressed her fears that the State had entered into another banditery.


According to her, who also doubles as the head of an organisatthe in the area, issue of impeachment or any other one is not what bothers the people of the State,” what pains us much now is the issue of insecurity, we need those that will make us to all go back to our ancestral homes and sleep with our two eyes closed” she added.
She therefore advised all and sundry to ignore all that happens in respect of the impeachment saga and go about their daily legitimate businesses.
