Abuja-Kaduna train attack: GPMI reacts, hails Army for swift response

Global Peace Movement International, UK has urged Nigerians to unite against terrorists, bandits and saboteurs.

GPMI said this while reacting to the latest bandits’ attack on the Abuja-Kaduna train.

In a statement issued on Wednesday by its President General, Dr. Mike Uyi GPMI urged Nigerians to help security agencies to be more proactive amid the latest bandits’ attack.

” The attack is a major evidence of the extent to which unscrupulous elements can sabotage the good efforts of the Nigerian armed forces and government to provide comfort for the citizens,” Uyi stated.

He called on communities to help security agencies in their efforts to expose the perpetrators of the evil act, urging the nation’s security agencies to work assiduously in rescuing kidnapped victims.

“We call on Nigerians to look beyond this mindless attack. It’s the work of saboteurs, rebellious subjects and enemies of peace. Rather, we must unite against those who seek to destroy our fragile civilization and our nascent democracy.”

In the same vain, the GPMI commended the leadership of the Nigerian Army, Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen Faruk Yahaya for his continues efforts in ensuring that bandits and all other forms of criminal elements are completely eradicated from Nigeria.

“It takes only a leader who has the love of his country to visit the scene of the attack almost immediately he got the news”.

“The visit and assessment of the scene will avail the security agencies with relevant first-hand information on the incident necessary for rejigging operational strategy to come up with a robust action plan for the prevention of a reoccurrence”.

He said the success of the war against all criminal activities in Nigeria cannot yielded positive results without the collaboration of the larger society.
