Kano CAN Pledges Continued Support To Police

The chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Kano state chapter, Bishop N. Namaza, has promised continued support and cooperation with the state Police Command, towards enhancing security of lives and property, as well as, mutual relationship among religious leaders in the state, irrespective of faith and denominations.

Bishop Namaza stated this on Thursday, when he led the new Kano CAN leadership on a courtesy visit to the state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Mamman Dauda, in his office.

According to him, CAN in Kano would be ever ready to support the police in the maintenance of peace and security in Kano.

The CAN Chairman stated that the visit was to strengthen the already existing cordial relationship between the CAN family and the Police Command in Kano State.

CP Dauda who welcomed members of the Christian body, said the Command is working with all stakeholders, including CAN to ensure that Kano remains peaceful and crime -free.

According to him, his Command is utilizing the principles and policies of Community Policing, which he described as key to maintenance of peace and order, as well as enhancement of security in the state.

The Police boss who promised provision of adequate security during Christmas and the entire yuletide season, urged residents of the state to remain law-abiding, security conscious and move about their businesses freely and responsibly.
