Sen. Aliero of PDP defeats Gov. Bagudu of APC

The independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has on Tuesday declared Sen. Adamu Aliero of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) as the winner of Kebbi Central Senatorial District.

The INEC Returning Officer, Prof. Abbas Yusuf-Bazata announced that Aliero had scored 126,588 votes defeating his archwhile rival, the incumbent governor of Kebbi State, Sen. Atiku Bagudu of All Progressives Congress (APC) whole polled 92,389 votes.

He said being the Returning Officer of 2023 Kebbi Central District Senatorial Election held on Feb. 25, “That Adamu Muhammad Mainasara Aliero of PDP haven certify the requirement of the law is hereby declare winner and returned elected Senator for Kebbi Central Senatorial District.”

The Returning Officer said Abubakar Bello Tilli of Social Democratic Party (SDP) scored 1,874 votes, while, Umar Rufa’i of People’s Redemption Party (PRP) got 992 votes.

Responding shortly after the declaration, Aliero appreciated his creator for giving him another opportunity to serve his people, assuring that his victory was a victory for all people of his constituency and the state at large.

He encouraged them to remain peace loving and always respect the constituted authorities to move the state forward
