About 3696 students have been matriculated for undergraduate studies in various disciplines for the 2023/ 2024  academic session at the Waziri Umaru Federal Polytechnic, Birnin Kebbi 

The Rector of the institution, Dr. Usman Sani Tunga, at the ceremony said, ”this year 2023/2024 a total of 3781 candidates applied for admission into our various programmes.

“Out of this number 3696 were offered admission. The breakdown shows that 1022 were admitted into HND programmes, 2003 into ND programmes and 681 into NCE programmes candidates”. 

Tunga  gave the statistics on Thursday during the matriculation ceremony.

He recalled that ceremony is an annual event which is used to welcome new students and to officially admit them to the membership of the institution.

The Rector said the institution has a solid foundation rooted in academic excellence and strong moral values. 

He said ”  we shall continue to uphold those values that stand us out among our peers . I want to assure staff , students, guardians and partners of our unshaken commitment  to the upliftment of the standards and qualities for which this Polytechnic is known and has  made it an institution of first choice by candidates seeking to pursue courses. 

Tunga further said the Polytechnic is famous for maintaining moral standards among staff and students.

He said the institution expected to exhibit the highest sense of discipline throughout your stay in the Polytechnic.
