Reverse Ningi’s suspension or face shut down, Northern students warn Senate

By Abbanobi Eku Onyekachi

The suspension of Senator Abdul Ningi of Bauchi Central, Bauchi State by the 10th Senate may have taken another dimension as the Association of Northern Nigerian Students (ANNS) has given the National Assembly 48 hours ultimatum to reverse its decision over the senator’s suspension or face shutdown.

This was contained in a press statement signed by the National President, ANNS, Comrade Sani Adamu.

Adamu said the leadership of the association condemns the decision on the suspension of the senator.

Recall that recently, Senator Abdul Ahmad Ningi accused the Senate President of budget padding, amounting to ₦3.7 trillion which, according to him has remained unaccounted for in the 2024 budget.

Reminding Senate President Godswill Akpabio the duties and responsibilities of the legislature, he said that what Ningi did was part of his duty as member of the legislature, to scrutinize the budget, ensure its full implementation and make laws for the country.
