Group applauds Gov. Mbah’s developmental strides

Greater Awgu movement forum, made up of Greater Awgu Media professionals, Greater Awgu Nigeria, among other groups have applauded the Enugu state governor Peter Mbah for his giant development stride and governance inclusion in all parts of the state.

Benson Orah, president of the Greater Awgu Nigeria and “the Pillar of Greater Awgu movement forum” stated this in a meeting held in Adu-Achi by the group on 4th of January 2026 aimed at drawing the attention of the technocrats, politicians,Academia among others from the zone to key into the polices and programs of the government of the day to attract more development in Greater Awgu.

He said that what the people of Greater Awgu needs as of today is cohesion, coming together as a group and working with the government of Peter Ndubuisi Mbah whom he said has the capacity to change the business environment in the area.
Orah said the Greater Awgu people have a lot of tourism sites in almost all the communities among other minerals resources that can contribute strongly to the economic development of the state if developed.

He thanked the governor for the Awgu games village he promised to rebuild for sports festival, the university of agriculture that would have a campus at Achi, the Awgu College of Nursing among many other schools, health and cluster system of agriculture in rural areas.

Anukwuoji Regis, the Chairman of Greater Awgu Media professionals, earlier explained that the objective of the movement was to bring every group in greater Awgu together to redirect the thinking of the people to work as a team which would be more beneficial to the people than working as an individual.

He said that the group has done a small research of what the challenges of the people are , where they are lacking and where they are having advantage and discovered that the people need to work as team and support the government to draw development to the area .

He also announced the Forum plans to organize the first Grater Awgu Economic and security summit within the year 2026 where major stakeholders are expected to have a roundtable discussion and come up with the best solutions to the challenges.
