A new Industrial estate known as ‘Red Arrows Industrial Complex’ will be established at Oji River Urban, iOji River local government area of Enugu state.
The Chairman of Aulic Nigeria Ltd an indigenous construction firm, handling the project, Prof.Nick Ezeh, disclosed this in a chat with newsmen in Enugu.
He said the groundbreaking of the project will take place on Friday,July 10th, at the project site,Oji River Urban.
According to him, the Red Arrow Industrial Complex is a landmark project set to drive Industrial growth and economic development of Enugu state.
The initiative in no small measure will help to attract multi national companies to invest in Oji Urban, utilising abundant natural resources such as water from the river, direct power supply from Oji transmission Center, the plain land and geographical disposition of Oji town between two state capitals of Awka in Anambra state and Enugu in Enugu state, among others.
The Authority checks reveals that Oji River town was among the towns established by the British Colonial administration,the home of Oji Thermal Power Station that powered the defunct Eastern region, utilising Coal deposits from Enugu.
Negligence and abandonment of many government establishments like the Federal Tanery, the General Hospital,the Oji natural water basin popularly known as the Wonderful water,retarded the speed of development of Oji Urban and it’s surrounding communities upgraded into Oji River local government area, as far back as 1976.
The establishment of ‘Red Arrows Industrial Complex’ in Oji Urban offers hope of new investments with capacity of generating employment for unemployed youths in the area.
