The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Fire Service has commenced a review of its Fire Router service framework as part of efforts to enhance operational efficiency and ensure the system serves the public interest.
Briefing journalists on Tuesday in Abuja, the Director of the FCT Fire Service, Adebayo Amiola, said the exercise covers both the administrative and technical components of the platform.
He explained that the Fire Router system, introduced through a partnership with technical service provider Prime Alert Secure Limited, is being evaluated to determine its alignment with the service’s strategic objectives, operational standards, and long-term service delivery goals.
Amiola appealed to residents and existing subscribers to remain patient while the review is ongoing, assuring them that the service would communicate the outcome and any new operational arrangements once the exercise is concluded.
He advised subscribers to retain their installed Fire Router devices pending further directives from the FCT Fire Service.
The director also urged subscribers whose service plans are due for renewal to seek clarification through the FCT Fire Service’s official communication channels before committing to long-term renewals.
Amiola assured residents that the FCT Fire Service’s conventional emergency response system remains fully operational despite the ongoing review, urging the public to continue reporting fire incidents through the established emergency channels.
He commended the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, for his continued support and commitment to strengthening public institutions, adding that all stakeholders would be kept informed as decisions emerge from the review process.
