Tinubu Support Group Flags Off National Campaign in Jos

From Everest Ezihe, Owerri

The Renewed Hope for Greater Nigeria (RHGN), a foremost pro-Tinubu re-election support group, is set to flag off its national campaign for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid today, Saturday, August 22, 2026, in Jos, Plateau State.

The event will also feature the formal inauguration of the Plateau State Executive Council of the group, as well as its Local Government Coordinators.

Speaking with journalists in Owerri, the Imo State capital, on Friday, the Deputy Leader of RHGN, Franklin Ngoforo, disclosed that the ceremony is scheduled to commence at 10:00 a.m.

He explained that the Jos event is the latest in a series of state-level organisational structures being rolled out across the country by RHGN under the leadership of its National Leader and Convener, Hon. Calistus Anyanwu.

Ngoforo noted that the group has, in recent months, completed similar organisational rollouts across the South-East and other geopolitical zones, adopting a grassroots approach aimed at building support “from the wards up” rather than relying solely on press statements and campaign rhetoric.

Serving as the Chief Host of the occasion is Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwada, National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), whose presence, according to the organisers, underscores the alignment between RHGN’s grassroots mobilisation drive and the party’s broader political objectives ahead of the 2027 general election.

RHGN has positioned itself as distinct from other pro-Tinubu support groups by focusing its campaign messages on the policy record and programmes of the present administration.

Anyanwu had previously identified the removal of fuel subsidy, the unification of the foreign exchange market, the Nigeria Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), ongoing tax reforms and direct allocation remittances to local governments as some of the achievements the group intends to showcase to Nigerians ahead of the polls.

Organisers said the Plateau inauguration would formally activate ward- and local-government-level structures across the state, replicating the model already deployed in the South-East, where the group has announced plans to establish a “Booth Army” at polling units to mobilise voters.

The Plateau chapter is expected to coordinate extensive community-level outreach and grassroots mobilisation across the Middle Belt state ahead of the election season.

The ceremony will be held under the broad theme of unity and grassroots empowerment, with the Plateau chapter adopting the rallying message: “Together, We Can Do More.”

The chapter has also pledged its commitment to unity of purpose, service to the people and sustainable development across Plateau State.

With the Jos flag-off, RHGN’s Plateau structure joins a growing list of state chapters established nationwide as part of the group’s strategy to build an enduring political architecture well ahead of the 2027 general election, rather than waiting until the commencement of the formal campaign season.
