Ebonyi state commissioner for Information and State Orientation, Mr. Jude Okpor has Pledged to partner with media practitioners in Ebonyi state to drive home government policies and programmes.
Mr Okpor made this known while interacting with the executive members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Ebonyi state Council during a courtesy call in his office.
The commissioner stated that the Ebonyi state government under Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru considers NUJ Ebonyi state council as a very strong and worthy ally as well as a stable partner in the development of Ebonyi State, and reassured them government readiness to partner media Practitioners.
He assured continued partnership with journalists to ensure that the letters of Governor Nwifuru’s Manifesto, christened the “Peoples Charter of Needs” were implemented to the benefit of the people of the state and overall development of the state.
The Information boss appreciated the journalists for their prompt and wide reportage of government activities and encouraged them to always consider the corporate image of the state while reporting events in the state, and promised that he would run an open door policy where every stakeholder in the media profession would be carried along.
He explained that Francis Nwifuru’s led government will continue to ensure that people were adequately informed about government policies and programmes by providing an enabling environment for working journalists in the state.
Earlier in his remarks, the new chairman of NUJ, Ebonyi state council, Mr. Samson Nwafor said they were in his office to congratulate him on his appointment as the Commissioner for Information and State Orientation, and also assured him of quality support from media Organizations in Ebonyi state.
