Zeetin Engineering Set To Unveil N3.5bn Electric Automobile Factory In Abuja

Zeetin a Precision Engineering firm has concluded plans to begin the production of electric cars and other heavy duty vehicles in the country.

The group stated that it is pushing through the setting up of a multi-billion naira factory in Idu Industrial Area of Abuja to produce electric cars, heavy duty trucks and provide other engineering services.

The company said the investment Is a move to launch Nigeria into the league of vehicle-producing countries,

Besides, ZEETIN is out to manufacture other cars, trucks, and off-road heavy-duty equipment for the Nigerian market.

The promoter of the company, Robert Azibaola, told a select members of group of media men during a tour of the factory that he had invested so far about N3.5 billion in setting up the place, pointing out that he had yet to borrow a dime from any bank anywhere in the world.

Azibaola, however, said he was desirous to receive bank facilities that would assist him to accelerate the completion of the factory, which according to him would provide between 500 and 600 Nigerians with direct employment as well as thousands of people with indirect employment.

He, however, disclosed that Bank of Industry (BoI) and Nigeria Export-Import (NEXIM) Bank had expressed their readiness to furnish Zeetin Engineering with a loan facility of N2.5b each.

Azibaola, who is a lawyer (although he studied sciences before branching off to study law) declared that “as a visioner, this is my vision and it is to make Nigeria great.”

According to him: “Except we get our act together, the black race globally will not have a proper footing in spite of their inventions in the western countries. This is my personal contribution towards making Nigeria a great country.”

He said that in line with his passion to buy machines that make machines, he decided to invest his life, money and time in the setting up and running of the factory, pointing out that his effort would turn around the negative narrative that Nigeria has been unable to make drilling machines sixty-one years after independence.

Azibaola, who gave short descriptions, capacities and usages of the no fewer than twelve massive machines that had already been installed (some are still in their containers on the premises of the factory), declared: “This is a place for science, technology, innovation and precision engineering.”

He said it was high time importation of spare parts of machines stopped, pointing out: “importation of parts and spare parts should not happen again in Nigeria. We are here to carve and manufacture any spare parts needed in the country.”

The company in its bio prided itself as a precision engineering company that has built a state-of-the-art factory in Abuja, the centre of unity of Nigeria, adding that it had taken a bold step to develop and advance technology in Nigeria to par with the rest of the world.

The brief reads: “Zeetin focuses on all types of metal works of high-end engineering. It has acquired and installed the most sophisticated production machines (CNCs, Plasmas, 5Axis Milling, Lathes, etc) in the metal works industry in Nigeria.

“With its capacity, Zeetin will be functioning as an OEM (original equipment manufacturer) for Nigeria and will be churning out full-scale industrial product for the Automotive, Aeronautic, Aviation, Railways, Marine, Agricultural sectors, etc.

“The lack of OEMs in the country has been a great hindrance to the growth and development of manufacturing and assembling companies. Manufacturers in Nigeria usually resort to importation of all their spares amidst scarce foreign exchange and lead time. When fully operational, most Nigerian businesses in need of specialised spare-parts will get from Zeetin direct and would not be waiting for importation from abroad. Thus, Zeetin Engineering shall be bridging a vital gap.

“Zeetin has array of machines that are for the manufacture of other machines, spares and equipment.

“This is why Zeetin is leading the way to become Nigeria’s proudly OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) at full-scale industrial levels for Nigeria.

“Zeetin is also into full-scale R&D (Research and Development). It is into the development and production of truly Nigerian Automotive Engines and subsequently to produce light vehicles, buses and heavy-duty equipment such as Dozers, Excavators, Cranes and other direly needed off-road machines required for the infrastructural development of Nigeria.

“This is in addition to Zeetin R&D for the development and production of Electric Cars taking into cognizance the shifting away of the world from petrol and diesel engines to other renewable sources of energy.

“ZEETIN is a privately owned, but it is a technology hub for Nigeria. It strives to be to Nigeria, what Toyota, Samsung, LG etc are to South Korea, or Boeing is to the US, or Mercedes is to Germany as industries of their national pride.

“Zeetin shall be training several youths in areas of design and innovative ideas and bringing to reality those ideas by offering its hub for youths to bring to reality their ideas in real products.

“Zeetin is actively engaged as a reverse engineering and 3D design centre, (CAD/CAE/CAM – that is, Computer-aided-Design/ -Engineering/ -Manufacturing), 3D scanning, youths’ inspirations and training centre, and more.

“Zeetin is commercially pioneering technological development of Nigeria, for all Nigerians, bringing innovation in design, development and manufacturing in many sectors and shall serve as a catalyst for the development of several industries across the country.”

“The company is founded, promoted and inspired by Azibaola Robert, (who is) a lawyer.

“ZEETIN is a pioneer industry in Nigeria and unlike others who assemble, ZEETIN is manufacturing cars, trucks, off-road heavy-duty equipment and electric vehicles for Nigeria,” the brief stated.

According to the company, “Azibaola Robert is first Nigerian lawyer and innovator to venture into the field of engineering excellence for Nigeria.”
