Stop trading on roadside, FCTA warns Kubwa traders

The officials of the Federal Capital Territory Administration have called on roadside traders at Kubwa to desist from the act or face full wrath of the administration.

Senior Special Assistant on Monitoring, Inspection and Enforcement to the minister of FCT, Ikharo Attah during a meeting with the key stakeholders, explained that the situation was causing FCT headache 


The meeting was called at the instance of the SA to the minister of FCT  on Community Relations, Musa Diko to brainstorm on ending trading on road corridors which often result to traffic jam in Maitama, Kubwa. 


He  said, the indigenes should have a small place in the market as signed in the MoU that brought the market into place.


The Hakimi of Kubwa-Maitama, Chief Bulus Yerima said the committee that is constituted should help address the issue of those selling on the road side and forced them inside.


On the issue of expansion, he said they have written to the Minister and hoping that the he will look into the matter .
The  Katanpe Community Head, Chief Danjuma Awodo said if care is not taking , the indigenes might completely go into extinction in Abuja. He urged the government to set up a committee to look into the issue of the road side trading.
