Infrastructure unlocks investment, spurs growth – Tinubu

By Daniel Tyokua

President Bola Tinubu has said infrastructure development remains the strongest catalyst for attracting investment and driving economic growth.

He stated this on Wednesday, during the inauguration of the newly constructed Collector Road C01 and bridge linking the Body of Benchers, and some key institutions in Abuja.

Tinubu represented by the vice president Kashim Shettina, said every new road built opens up communities, creates jobs and expands business opportunities.

He explained that projects being executed by the minister of the FCT Nyesom Wike, fulfilled his administration’s promise to deliver the Renewed Hope agenda through tangible infrastructure rather than abandoned dreams and half-hearted efforts.

According to him, the road forms part of a broader transport network, saying the recently flagged-off extension to Ring Road III will connect the district more effectively to other parts of the Federal Capital Territory, easing traffic congestion and improving access to educational institutions, residential communities and commercial centres.

He recalled that the project was approved after the Body of Benchers complained of severe traffic gridlock and poor access during the 2025 Nigerian Law School Call to Bar ceremony.

Tinubu commended the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, for delivering critical projects across Abuja, describing the ongoing commissioning of infrastructure as evidence that the administration is focused on action and results.

“We listened, approved the project under emergency procurement, and today the problem has been solved.

“When you build roads, you open up districts. When you open up districts, you invite investment. And when investment comes, Nigeria grows,” he said.

In his remarks, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, attributed the ongoing wave of infrastructure projects across Abuja to President Bola Tinubu’s decision to grant the FCT greater financial flexibility by removing it from the Treasury Single Account (TSA).

Wike expressed appreciation to the President for supporting the FCT Administration with the resources needed to execute critical infrastructure projects.

He said the commissioning of the road marked the 21st project inaugurated as part of activities lined up for the FCT’s 31-day project commissioning programme.
