Dr Aslam launches Baba Tinubu Fisabilillahi project in Zamfara, distributes food items, motorcycles, others

The City Boy Movement has launched a grassroots empowerment programme in Zamfara State, with plans to distribute equipment, food items and cash assistance to beneficiaries across the state’s 14 local government areas ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The initiative, known as the Baba Tinubu Fisabilillahi Project 2027, was launched in Gusau, the state capital, under the leadership of Dr Princess Aslam Aliyu, Gimbiyar Kaura.

The flag-off ceremony was performed by Governor Dauda Lawal, while the project is part of a planned 19-state empowerment tour across Northern Nigeria.

According to the organisers, the programme will distribute 1,000 sewing machines, 3,000 spaghetti-making and grinding machines, and 1,000 soybean processing kits, popularly known as Awara machines.

The package also includes 700 solar generators, 150 motorcycles and 20,000 bags of rice.

The organisers further announced plans to provide cash assistance to 15,000 beneficiaries.

They put the proposed cash intervention at N350m, although they did not clarify whether the amount represented the total allocation or the payment to individual beneficiaries.

The initiative also includes a clean water component, under which 150 hand-pump boreholes have reportedly been constructed across communities in the state.

Following the launch, the Deputy Governor of Zamfara State commissioned one of the boreholes at Mareri village in Gusau Local Government Area.

The organisers said the water project was designed to improve access to safe drinking water and address challenges facing rural communities.

The empowerment programme is being coordinated by the City Boy Movement under the leadership of Seyi Tinubu, with Aliyu serving as its matron in Zamfara.

The organisers said distribution teams would take the intervention to beneficiaries across all 14 local government areas as part of efforts to extend the programme beyond the state capital.

The project also forms part of political mobilisation efforts ahead of President Bola Tinubu’s anticipated re-election bid in 2027.

The organisers said the initiative was intended to support livelihoods, promote small businesses and strengthen grassroots participation in the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

The distribution of processing equipment, motorcycles and solar generators is expected to support beneficiaries engaged in small-scale businesses, agricultural processing and transportation.
