The Bauchi State Commissioner of Police, Mr Sani-Omolori Aliyu, has taken proactive security measures to ensure peaceful and orderly conduct of the APC primaries scheduled to begin on 16th May, 2026, in the state.
A statement issued by the command’s spokesperson, SP Nafiu Habib, indicated that both covert and overt operatives have been deployed by the command across strategic locations and venues to forestall any breach of security before, during and after the primaries.
“The operatives have been duly briefed and warned to maintain the highest level of professionalism, neutrality, and discipline in the discharge of their duties,” the statement stressed.
CP Omolori advised politicians, party faithful and members of the public to shun violence, political thuggery, and any conduct capable of disrupting public peace and the primary elections.
It assured of the command’s commitment to providing a secured environment for all political activities and warned that anyone found culpable of electoral offenses would be decisively dealt with.
The statement further encouraged citizens to promptly report any suspicious activities to the police through appropriate channels.
