Emir Of Kano Advocates For Inclusion Of Women In Politics

The Emir of Kano, His Highness, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero has advocated for inclusion of women in politics.

The First Class Emir who made the call while receiving Senator Oluremi Tinubu, wife of the All Progressive Congress (APC) presidential candidate,  Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in his Palace on Wednesday,  said women involvement in politics will better the development of the nation.

He further stated that women have important role to play in the growth and progress of Nigeria’s democracy, adding that women would always gain the opportunity to occupy position of leadership through credible and peaceful election.

Emir Bayero also commended Senator Oluremi Tinubu for the visit,  saying that it will bring her the opportunity to discuss and appreciate issues bordering women in the state and Nigeria at large.

In her remarks,  Senator Oluremi Tinubu who was escorted by the First Lady of Kano State, Prof.  Hafsat Abdullahi Ganduje, said was at the Palace to pay homage to the Royal Father and also intimate him of her desire to have a Town Hall meeting with women in the state ahead February 25 presidential election.

She prayed for the blessings of the Emir and seek for the support of the entire good people of Kano state to vote for APC in the forthcoming general elections for a better Nigeria.

Among Senator Oluremi Tinubu’s entourage during her homage to the Emir of Kano include, Hajiya Nana Kashim Shetima,  wife of Katsina state Governor,  wife of Deputy Governor of Jigawa state, notable APC women leaders across the country,  among others.
